Garden Programs are a collaboration between Kids Action Program and the Valley Community Learning Association. Kids Action Program provides participants with the opportunity to learn more about gardening and to grow their own produce.
Kids in The Garden:
Kids in The Garden is a program that encourages spending time in nature through learning. Kids who participate in this program will learn how to cultivate and grow plants. In 2026, Kids in The Garden had the opportunity to sell what they grew at a Garden Market at North End Market in Kentville.
Garden Workshops:
During the spring and summer months Kids Action Program hosts a Garden Workshop for adults. This is a cooking program that focuses on recipes that use produce that can be found in the gardens of the Valley Community Learning Association. Past workshops have included Strawberry Shortcake, Pesto, Jam and Rhubarb Muffins.
